Description

Registered Nurse - ICU (MICU)

Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM, Weekend Rotating
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Call Requirements: None


Unit Information

  • Unit: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
  • Assignments based on patient acuity and nurse skills
  • Equipment used: ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, GE Cardiac Output monitor
  • Documentation system: Meditech
  • Floating: As needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Skills and Procedures

  • Experience with central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, intubations, and other ICU procedures
  • Meditech experience preferred

Dress Code and Appearance Guidelines

  • Royal Blue scrubs required
  • Nails must be clean and healthy; no artificial nails, gel, or similar enhancements
  • Hair must be neat, clean, and pulled back if shoulder length or longer
  • Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
  • Tattoos should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
  • Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited (e.g., nose rings, tongue rings)

Additional Notes

  • Attendance policies follow company-wide standards
  • Floating guidelines apply as needed
