Description
Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry specialty
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: None
- Assignment Type: Travel contract
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- BLS certification from AHA required
- NIHSS certification required prior to start (may submit without initially)
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry nursing experience (highest required experience)
- Experience and competence in drug titration
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel period Nov 1 - Apr 1 (declinations not accepted)
Unit & Patient Information
- Unit: Medical 6B, 32 beds
- Patient Types: Medical, medical telemetry, respiratory patients
- Patient Ratios: Vary by shift (Day 1:5-1:6, Night 1:6-1:7) - ratios not guaranteed
- Equipment: Telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
- EMR System: EPIC
- Float: Rotational basis
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care effectiveness
- Care for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and with medical comorbidities
- Follow Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
Physical & Work Environment
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, kneel, crouch, crawl minimally
- Exposure to blood and body fluids
- May require flexible scheduling and shift changes based on patient care needs
Additional Information
- Dress code: Black scrubs only
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
- Flexible guaranteed hours and blocked scheduling may be approved with prior arrangement
- Time off requests (RTO) must be made after the first week; only one holiday RTO allowed per assignment
