Job Opportunity: RN Internal Medicine (Outpatient Services)

Location: Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Registered Nurse (RN) in Internal Medicine, primarily outpatient and/or primary care settings
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• No nights, weekends, or holidays required
• Start Date: February 23 or ASAP
• Shared housing available (restrictions: no pets or guests)
• Car required for the position
• Current flu vaccine required

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: RN Outpatient Services / Internal Medicine
• Required Years of Experience: 2 years (based on job description preference for primary care and outpatient experience)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Required Credentials & Certifications

• BLS Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) preferred; Red Cross accepted in some cases
• Professional Nursing License: Must be verified through primary sources (NURSYS and Board of Nursing)
• Immunizations & Health Requirements:

  • Influenza vaccine (required during flu season, no exemptions)
  • MMR vaccine or proof of immunity
  • TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity (strongly preferred)
  • Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 1 year
  • Tdap vaccine preferred (within 10 years)
• Background Checks & Verifications:

  • Criminal background check including Massachusetts CORI
  • National sex offender registry check
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, Medicaid lists)
  • Social Security Number trace
  • Education verification (highest level achieved)
• Additional Documentation:

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
  • Two recent professional references (minimum one supervisor or above)
  • Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission
  • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit testing is required

Additional Notes

• Must comply with all credentialing and onboarding requirements prior to start
• Shared housing requires signing a housing agreement
• No MA Conditional Licenses accepted
• Documentation must be current and updated as required (e.g., TB tests, background checks)
