Job Opportunity: PACU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Novato, California
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Staff Nurse II
• Provide direct care to surgical patients, focusing on the immediate postoperative period
• Utilize nursing process, medical therapeutics, and technological/personal interventions
• Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during assigned shifts
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, day shift (08:00 - 20:30)

Required Qualifications

• License: California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC only
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA or ARC only
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience (highest required)
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check within 6 months of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, FACIS Level 3 screening, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List, and other required screenings
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
  • Immunizations and titers: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency and other applicable exams as required
• Employment History: Full 7 years of work history with no gaps, verification required

Additional Requirements

• Must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start
• TB screening questionnaire required within 90 days of start and annually thereafter
• References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement, not client)
• No explicit prior travel experience required
