Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department (Travel)
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Overview
- Level 2 Trauma Center with 4 critical care bays
- Provides 24/7 Emergency Care (Trauma Level III)
- Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Patient ratio approximately 1:4
- Unit uses Cerner EHR system and equipment including ultrasound, bladder scanner, neuro tele computer, and handheld Care Aware devices
- Teleneurology support for stroke in cooperation with a major hospital
- No PICU on site; pediatric ICU patients are transferred out
Position Details
- Specialty: Emergency Department (ED)
- Shift: 10:45 AM – 11:15 PM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: No guaranteed weekends off, but fair scheduling is prioritized
- Call requirements: None
- Float requirements: Travelers required to float to ED holding
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license for Maine
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing
- Required certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BCLS/BLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support/Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Experience with Cerner EHR, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), charge nurse experience, and NIH stroke scale preferred
- Skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, ventilated patients, and triage in a non-trauma emergency department setting
