Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details

- Call: On call 1 week in every 4 weeks

Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Tech
- First-time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Required Certifications & Licenses
- License: RCIS or ARRT with Maryland license (Cath Lab Tech specific)
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA only
- Other certifications (if applicable) must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start date
Facility & Work Environment
- Acute Care Hospital with 178 staffed beds
- Charting system: Cerner
- Scrub color provided
- Free parking in South Parking Garage
- Strict no-tobacco/nicotine policy (includes all forms: cigarettes, vaping, gum, patches, etc.)
- Tobacco/nicotine use will result in automatic cancellation if detected on drug screen
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Proof of I9 or attestation
- Government-issued photo ID required on site
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education verification or transcript/diploma required (highest degree completed)
- Drug screen: 11-panel including cotinine/nicotine and marijuana within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start (no religious or medical exemptions accepted without facility approval)
- Immunizations and titers required: Tdap, TB test (QuantiFERON or 2-step TST), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B (positive titer required), Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccine required (no declinations without approved exemption)
- Eye exam (visual acuity) within 6 months of start, repeated annually
- Color blind exam within 5 years of start
- Fingerprinting required for behavioral health units (Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI)
- Radiation badge provided by facility for new radiology candidates
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for applicable roles
Additional Notes
- No floating to other units or sister facilities
- Must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation deadlines
- Facility enforces strict compliance with drug screening and immunization policies
- Candidates must be nicotine-free for at least 90 days prior to start
- Candidates must be able to pass fit testing with approved masks; facial hair must be trimmed/shaved as required
This position is ideal for Cath Lab Techs with at least 2 years of experience looking for a 13-week travel contract in Maryland with a reputable acute care hospital system.
