Job Opportunity: RN - CVICU (Cardiothoracic ICU)

Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

Deliver nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families. Monitor changing conditions and re-evaluate care plans accordingly.

Unit Information

Specialty: Cardiothoracic ICU (CVICU)
Number of Beds: 14 (expanding soon to 26)
Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2, varies by shift needs
Equipment: CRRT machine, Abbott Balloon pump, External Vent Drain, Impella, PrismaFlex
EMR System: EPIC
Shift: Night
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Hours: As needed / rotating
Call Requirements: None
Float Requirements: Will float to ICU and any progressive unit as needed

Required Qualifications

Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
Specialty Experience: Cardiothoracic ICU (CVICU)
Minimum Years of Experience: 1+ years in specialty
Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
Must Have Skills/Experience: Cardiac care including open heart surgery and CABG experience is a must

Heart surgery patients
Neurological patients (stroke, brain surgery)

Work Environment & Culture

Personality Fit: Competent, team player with good work ethic, flexible
Dress Code: Black scrubs
