Job Opportunity: Staff Nurse Specialty Care
Location: Johnson City, New York
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy. The RN ensures compliance with professional standards and promotes a patient-centered, caring, and healing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
- Serve as primary or accountable nurse as assigned.
- Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
- Administer medications safely according to policy.
- Manage resources effectively including staffing and supplies.
- Comply with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Nursing Shared Governance, improvement initiatives, and peer review.
- Engage in professional development and mandatory education.
- Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practice.
- Support learning for new employees and students.
- Perform Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned.
- Participate in the Clinical Ladder Program as expertise develops.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 6 months to 3 years of nursing (RN) experience.
- Preferred: Previous clinical nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory settings.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
- Unit-specific requirements may apply.
Preferred Certifications
- CCRN.
- Relevant skills certifications such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC as required by the assigned unit.
