Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Job Summary
The ICU nurse coordinates, plans, directs, and implements the nursing process in the delivery of patient care in the critical care setting.
Position Details
- Specialty: ICU
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: Night (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 (option for 48 hours per week upon request)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (up to 26 weeks upon request)
- Number of Openings: 1
- Weekend Requirements: Rotating every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday required unless otherwise approved
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Will float within CTICU/ICU and any progressive unit as needed
Unit Information
- Department: Medical Surgical ICU
- Number of Beds: 14
- Patient Ratios: 2 patients per 1 RN (max 3:1)
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, Prismaflex CRRT machines, IABP Abbott, EPIC charting, Omnicell medication dispensing
- EMR System: EPIC
- Type of Patients: Fresh from OR CABG, neuro ventriculostomy, lumbar drains, prolonged ventilator or high oxygen demands, sepsis, TNK/stroke patients, CRRT
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS
- Experience: Minimum 1+ years ICU experience
- Flu Vaccination: Required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (exemptions must be client approved)
Work Environment & Expectations
- Dress Code: Black scrubs
- Personality Fit: Competent, team player with good work ethic, flexible
- Holidays: Expected to work at least one major summer or winter holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day)
- Time Off: Up to 5 days off per 13-week contract can be automatically approved; additional time off requires leader approval and may need to be made up
Additional Notes
- This facility is a Level 3 Emergency and Trauma Center with certifications including Comprehensive Cardiac Center and Primary Stroke Center.
- Patient care involves critical and complex cases requiring strong ICU skills.
