Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Orange, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Position: Infusion RN
- Schedule: 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (Monday-Friday), Wednesday off
- Patient Care:
- 70% Oncology-based therapy
- 30% Blood transfusion, IVIG, hydration, iron therapy
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- Floating: Required to float between like units
- Weekend shifts: Not required
- Block scheduling: Possible, at manager's discretion
- First-time travelers accepted only if they have chemotherapy certification and 2+ years of experience
Required Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Infusion/Oncology)
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years (preferred 1-2 years, but 2+ years required for first-timers)
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Registered Nurse license valid in California
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Chemotherapy Certification (CHEMO CERT) - Required for this position
- Additional certifications that may be required or recommended (verify with clinical track):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- IV Certification (if applicable)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start date
- Drug Screening: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations and Health Documents:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) for travel starts on or after 2/5/2024
- Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education Verification: Required for nursing degree
- Employment Application: Must include last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps/overlaps
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
Additional Notes
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
- Local radius: 50 miles (for local rate considerations)
- Photo for badge required prior to start
- Must complete required WorkRamp modules and Epic training as assigned
- Float policy acknowledgment required
