Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Standard background checks including 7-year location history, sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education verification (transcript, diploma, or equivalent)
- Employment application and professional references as applicable
- Facility-specific requirements such as de-escalation modules attestation, arbitration agreement, voluntary meal waiver, assault responsive competency (ARC) training within 30 days of start
- Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor required within 30 days of start (Blue Fire Card only; Red Card not accepted)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam clearance within the past year
- Fit testing for approved masks (3M Aura 9205+ or 3M 1860 Small) within 12 months prior to start; onsite PAPR testing available if needed
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (QGold/T-SPOT or two-step PPD)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2-vaccine series (boosters or declination if low titers)
- Hepatitis B: positive titer, 3-vaccine series, or declination with proof of prior vaccination or negative titer
- Varicella: positive titer or 2-vaccine series (booster or declination if low titers)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (September - March)
- COVID-19 vaccination plus booster or documented declination
- 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
- Color vision exam (14-plate Ishihara test) required for ICU-related specialties
Additional Notes
- Job description and facility-specific documents will be provided as applicable
- Candidates will have 30 days from start date to complete required assault responsive competency training (ARC)
- Fire Card course can be completed onsite; cost paid by clinician
This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs licensed in California seeking a travel contract in Los Angeles with a 13-week commitment.
