    Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

    Location: Bakersfield, California
    Employment Type: Clinical Nursing Travel
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Job Description

    • Independently provide nursing care to acutely ill patients in Labor & Delivery under nurse leader supervision.
    • Perform nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic care.
    • Create a compassionate, patient- and family-centered care environment.
    • Collect and document patient data; interpret assessment data to identify risk factors.
    • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
    • Prioritize nursing actions based on assessment and clinical judgment.
    • Establish nursing diagnoses and revise care plans as needed.
    • Manage rapidly changing patient conditions and activate emergency protocols when necessary.
    • Coordinate care activities with nurses, physicians, and advanced practice providers.
    • Adhere to evidence-based practices, therapeutic standards, and infection control policies.
    • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and nursing governance activities.
    • Maintain competencies and complete mandatory education.
    • Comply with RN scope of practice, ANA Code of Ethics, and California Nurse Practice Act.

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 3 years of experience as an RN in Labor & Delivery.
    • Valid and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) License.
    • Knowledge and experience with Cerner EMR system.
    • Certifications:
      • Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
      • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitor (FHM)
      • AWHONN Maternal Fetal Triage Index (MFTI)
      • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certifications:
        • Basic Life Support (BLS)
        • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
    • Must meet all health requirements designated by the employer.
    • Knowledge of advanced nursing theory, medical terminology, instruments, equipment, and medication effects.
