Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Centralia, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)

- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (1800-0630)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2; may adjust based on acuity (e.g., CCU downgrades)
- Charting System: EPIC
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
- Total Staffed Beds: 116
- Floating: Required to float between like units
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Local Candidates: Not eligible if residing within 50 miles of the facility
- Pending License: Not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year ICU experience (higher value confirmed)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Washington State
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Nationwide and National Sex Offender checks, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable), and international background if applicable
- Background must be current and clear of open/active felony cases or multiple DUI charges
- Education Verification: Required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in a comparable ICU setting
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations & Health Documents:
- TDAP (within 10 years) or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer, or declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer, or declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for travel candidates, medically cleared annually for respirator use
- Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates, updated annually; onsite testing available if no recent record
Additional Requirements
- WorkRamp Modules:
- Completion of system-level regulatory and specialty-specific modules annually via Aya's LMS platform (WorkRamp)
- Specialty-specific modules for ICU and travel staff required prior to start
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required
- WA State Specific:
- WA State Patrol Search (WSP/WATCH) within 90 days of start, updated every 2 years for applicable settings
- Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation required for RNs working with out-of-state compact licenses in Washington
Notes
- On-call shifts are not required
- Floating between similar units is mandatory
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible for this travel contract
- First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
