Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with Medical/Surgical specialty to work as a float nurse. This is a travel assignment in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- License: Current RN license in good standing for Kansas (or compact license valid in Kansas).
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association) required
- MOAB Moderate Risk Certification
- NIH Certification (updated as required)
- Competencies & Testing:
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score
- Ascension EKG Exam with minimum 80% passing score
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out
- Health & Immunizations:
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (mask required if declined)
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (comprehensive drug testing)
- Background & Verification:
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment
- EPLS check within 90 days of start
- Education Verification within 90 days of start
- Employment Verification for past 7 years
- Other Requirements:
- Driver’s License/State ID (valid, matching address requirements)
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Ascension Profile and at least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Various Ascension-specific onboarding and compliance checklists and attestations
