Description
Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical (Travel)
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Every other weekend, no call
- EHR System: Cerner OneChart
- Dress Code: Ceil blue scrubs
- May be required to float to similar assignments
Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Current RN license in good standing for Kansas
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
Certifications
- BLS (American Heart Association) required
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
- NIH Certification (updated every 2 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics) with minimum 80% passing score
- Ascension EKG Exam with minimum 80% passing score
Health & Immunizations
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit Test: Required annually (preferred prior to start)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 90 days of start
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
Onboarding & Compliance
- Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (optional for onboarding)
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (onsite)
- Ascension Nova StatStrip training
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- EPLS check within 90 days prior to start and if break in service > 90 days
- Education Verification within 90 days prior to start
- Employment Verification for past 7 years, updated annually
- Driver’s License/State ID matching home state for compact license holders
Documentation
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Resume/Profile submission required
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation upon initial assignment and updates with extensions
- Ascension Badge Photo (white or blue background, no alterations)
