    Job Opportunity: RN - ACCU - Travel

    Location: Moreno Valley, California

    Job Description

    • Assess patients on admission and reassess each patient’s health needs at least every shift
    • Establish and update individualized plans of care based on comprehensive data
    • Administer oral, topical, and parenteral medications following the 7 rights
    • Assess and document medication effectiveness and any adverse effects
    • Perform treatments and procedures adhering to nursing best practices, hospital policies, sterile technique, and patient privacy
    • Document patient care, pain management, discharge planning, education, and progress accurately and legibly
    • Educate patients and families based on assessed needs
    • Interpret diagnostic data and communicate changes in patient condition promptly to physicians and healthcare team members
    • Use SBAR communication for all handoffs
    • Maintain patient confidentiality, safety, and participation in care planning
    • Participate in multidisciplinary care planning
    • Manage patients in restraints per policy and understand application criteria
    • Follow National Patient Safety Goals and hospital policies including infection control and use of two patient identifiers
    • Understand disaster plans, rapid response activation, and life safety standards (Code Blue, Code Pink, Code Red, Haz Mat, Oxygen shut off)
    • Demonstrate knowledge of blood transfusion policies and documentation
    • Follow guidelines for Core Measures and vaccine control

    Critical Care Nurse Specific Tasks

    • Document initial assessments, multidisciplinary care plans, progress notes, ICU flow sheets, medication records, medication reconciliation, critical values, and telephone orders
    • Use Pyxis system appropriately for narcotics
    • Administer high-risk medications per policy
    • Use pressure monitoring, bedside cardiac monitors, recognize cardiac dysrhythmias, and operate specialty beds
    • Manage pain and sedation protocols
    • Follow early mobility protocols
    • Adhere to protocols for sepsis, ventilator-associated pneumonia, pressure ulcers, and central lines
    • Collect nurse specimens for Type and Cross/Screen
    • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care of critically ill patients accurately
    • Access appropriate resources and unit-specific policies as needed

    Required Qualifications

    • Current RN license in California
    • ACLS and BLS certification
    • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
    • Conscious Sedation certification
    • Minimum 5 years of recent ICU RN experience in an acute care facility (preferred units: SICU, MICU, Trauma)
    • Ability to float to ICU, ED, PACU, and care for full IMC patients in various units (ED, 2500, 3100)

    Contract Length

    • 4 weeks (interpreted as 4 weeks based on contract length value)

    Prior Travel Experience

    • Not explicitly required

    This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs comfortable with critical care environments and flexible floating assignments across multiple acute care units.
