Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery - FS
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Registered Nurse - Direct Care
Job Summary
Under general supervision, provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients; observe and intervene as necessary.
- Administer medications as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care.
- Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required.
Certifications & Licensure
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- BLS (Basic Life Support).
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - American Heart Association.
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider OR Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Instructor.
Experience
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Some computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN or MSN from an accredited program.
