- Floating: May be required to float to mother-baby units and possibly to another nearby facility within a reasonable distance

Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty
- First-time travelers accepted
- Weekend work requirements depend on contract length
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- AWHONN Advanced (specific to Labor and Delivery)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Required Licenses
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for California
- NURSYS verification required
Prior Travel Experience
- Not explicitly required
Additional Requirements
- Must be flexible to work weekends and float between units as needed
- Precepting skills preferred
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- Locals within a 50-mile radius are accepted
Compliance and Documentation
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screen (10 panel) within 90 days of start, instant tests not accepted
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Fit mask test required annually (except Sterile Processing Techs)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
Training and Competency
- Must complete Providence-specific WorkRamp modules annually, including:
- Regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules for Labor and Delivery, Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Postpartum
- Epic training modules (completion required before moving to Paid Day Work status)
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
Floating Policy
- Acknowledgement required; may be asked to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
Notes
- Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
- Scrub color is flexible (any color allowed)
