Required Qualifications
- Valid California RN License
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- Every other weekend availability required
Experience

Background and Screening Requirements
- 7-year background check including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks as applicable
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Employment verification covering up to 7 years with no gaps over 30 days; full 7 years of work history required on application
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (11/1 - 4/30), or signed declination
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually
- Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam only)
Competency and Skills
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units
- ICU RNs at some locations may be required to take EKG exam onsite after start
Facility Specific Requirements
- Candidate must review and sign facility policies and job description prior to start, including:
- Standards of Business Conduct
- Code of Conduct
- Vendor Training (2024 and 2025 versions depending on contract date)
- Overpayment Refund Policy
- General Regulatory Orientation for Contracted Workers
- TB Questionnaire (signed by candidate and healthcare provider within 90 days)
- Request for Religious Accommodation Form (if applicable)
- Epic Questionnaire (RN only, required for new candidates starting 11/3/2025 and onward)
Additional Notes
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training may be required; can be completed onsite during orientation week
- NIH Stroke Certification may be required; verify by position
