Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Summary
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a fast-paced unit providing intermediate-level nursing care for adult patients following medical procedures, surgical interventions, or diagnostic treatments. The unit focuses on short-stay patients expected to be discharged within 24 hours and those admitted with chest pain or recovering from procedures such as cardiac catheterization, endoscopic interventions, electrophysiology studies, interventional radiology, or minor surgeries. Care includes cardiac monitoring, moderate sedation recovery, and early ambulation to support rapid recovery and discharge planning.
Job Responsibilities
- Telemetry monitoring and advanced cardiac support
- Chest pain care with expedited testing and follow-up
- Post-procedural care for moderate to lower acuity patients
- Patient-centered, goal-directed care focused on rapid recovery
- Multidisciplinary collaboration with procedural departments and care management teams
- Strong focus on patient safety, throughput, and satisfaction
Required Qualifications
Education
- Diploma of Nursing (required)
- BSN (preferred)
Licensure & Certifications
- Ohio RN license or Compact RN license
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide age- and culturally-specific patient care and education
- Effective communication with peers using appropriate channels while maintaining confidentiality
- Commitment to continuing professional growth and maintaining competence
- Ability to accept and implement change and work in a culturally diverse setting
Prior Travel Experience
- Not specified / not required
