Job Opportunity: Temporary Registered Nurse (RN) – Cath Lab (Days)
Location: Midland, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care for patients before, during, and after angiography, interventional, angiographic cardiac catheterization procedures, and other diagnostic testing.
- Perform pre-procedure assessments, pre-medication, documentation of cath process, post-cath care, and patient education.
- Scrub in for procedures and assist other members of the cardiac catheterization laboratory team.
- Conduct cardiac diagnostic nursing procedures including stress echocardiogram, treadmill exams, nuclear and pharmacologic stress testing, tilt table, echocardiograms, cardioversions, and transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Assist with preparation, procedure, and recovery for interventional radiology procedures.
- Evaluate and screen patients for safety prior to testing.
- Provide sedation monitoring and document appropriately.
- Apply Holter monitors, event monitors, ambulatory blood pressure monitors, and perform pacemaker interrogations.
- Insert PICC lines and serve as a vascular access expert.
- Operate and manage equipment such as cardiac output monitors, hemodynamic monitors, pacemakers/ICDs, intraaortic balloon pumps, crash carts, IV pumps, defibrillators, glucometers, stress machines, and other nursing supplies.
- Record all pertinent information accurately and develop cardiovascular education materials and programs.
Required Qualifications
- License: Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certifications:
- American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support)
- American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Cath Lab nursing.
- At least 1 year of experience in Electrophysiology (required).
- Skills:
- Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation (preferred).
- Knowledge and operation of intraaortic balloon pump (preferred).
- Experience with Epic EMR system (preferred).
- Other Requirements:
- Work history and skills checklist relevant to Cath Lab nursing current within 1 year.
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates not considered).
Preferred Qualifications
- Interventional Radiology experience.
- Prior travel work experience (preferred but not required).
Additional Information
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs.
- EMR system used: Epic.
