Description
Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery
Location: Fishers, Indiana
Facility: ININD St Vincent Fishers Hospital (Ascension Health)
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Position: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Key Requirements and Credentials
Licenses & Verification
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and match address requirements)
Certifications
- BLS (American Heart Association required)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics (optional but preferred)
- NRP Advanced (required)
- Ascension Fetal Monitoring (if not covered on competency exam, must have AWHONN, Relias, or equivalent within past 2 years)
Testing & Exams (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)
- Ascension Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% or national benchmark, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical specialty, completed within one year and updated annually)
Onboarding & Documentation
- Ascension Resume/Profile and 2 professional references required prior to submission
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Ascension Onboarding Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
- Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters)
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation upon initial assignment and extensions
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Proof of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (preferred before start, can be done onsite; annual update required)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing for TB screening with required follow-up documentation
- Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
Background & Employment Verification
- Criminal background check including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender registry (within 30 days of start, updated annually)
- Employment verification for past 7 years (updated annually)
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
Additional Notes
- This assignment is an extension of a contract
- Some optional credentials and documents may be requested by Ascension unit leaders during onboarding
- Compliance with all Ascension Health policies and procedures is mandatory
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who meet the credentialing and compliance requirements of Ascension Health and are seeking a 3-month contract in Fishers, Indiana.
