Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Long Beach, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, AM (6:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
- Start Date: ASAP
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Floating: Required
- Weekend Requirement: 1-2 weekends per month
- On-call: Yes, based on department needs
- Documentation System: EPIC
- Scheduling Type: Block, Self-scheduling, etc.
- Pre-approved Time Off: Allowed at manager’s discretion; must be included at submission
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI accepted
Required Licenses
- Valid California RN license with primary source online verification (NURSYS verification required)
Required Competencies & Testing
- Medication Calculation Test (required for all RNs)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias EKG Basic or Advanced depending on unit)
- Competency Exam (must be within 2 years from start date)
- Color Blind Testing (annual)
- Pass/Fail Testing for EKG/Medication (not required for Per Diem)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start
- Fit Mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- TDAP vaccine within last 10 years (declination allowed)
- Negative TB test (QGOLD, TSPOT, or 2-Step PPD) within 1 year, updated annually
- TB Questionnaire annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declination allowed if pregnant/immunocompromised)
- Hepatitis B Surface Antibody Titer (declination allowed)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declination allowed)
- Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year (instant drug screen acceptable; marijuana panel excluded per CA state law)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required Nov 1 - Apr 30; declination allowed with masking)
- COVID vaccination record preferred
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of EPIC Education Modules prior to or at start (approx. 8 hours)
- Completion of YouLearn Modules assigned by facility
- HIPAA Education Module completion required before EPIC modules
- Review of facility policies including Drug and Alcohol Free, Hand Hygiene, Dress and Appearance

- Annual internal evaluation if employed for 1 year or more
