Description

Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Prince Frederick, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Patient Ratios: 1:3-4
Floating: Yes, between like units (not to sister facilities)
Weekend Requirement: Yes
On-call Requirement: No
Block Schedule: Not accommodated
Locals Accepted: Yes (within same local radius)
Pending State License Accepted: Yes
First-timers Accepted: No


Required Qualifications

  • Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Specialty: Labor and Delivery (L&D)
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years preferred (2 years required) — use 3 years as requirement
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required
  • Certifications Required:
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) — Required for L&D
    • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Licensure: Active RN license for Maryland (pending state license accepted)

Additional Requirements

  • Must provide proof of:
    • I9 or Attestation
    • Government-issued photo ID
    • E-Verify or Attestation
    • Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year criminal background check (updated annually)
    • Sex offender search
    • OFAC Sanctions List search
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Health and Immunization Documentation:
    • Physical exam (initial and annual)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
    • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
    • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
    • Drug screening (9 or 10 panel depending on requirements)
    • N95 Fit Test within 12 months (Respirator medical clearance required if fit testing onsite)
  • References: Minimum 2 clinical references (3 current references preferred)
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)

Special Notes

  • Floating may be required between like units within the facility.
  • Weekend shifts are mandatory.
  • No block scheduling accommodations.
  • Travelers must adhere to one request for time off (RTO) restriction.
  • Radiation badge and prior radiation exposure attestation are not applicable for this L&D position.

This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs who meet the certification and licensure requirements and are comfortable with floating within similar units and working mandatory weekends.
