Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Elko, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Facility Overview
- Unit: Women’s Services, LDRP (Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Triage, Postpartum, Nursery)
- Number of Beds: 15 (6 L&D, 9 Postpartum)
- Patient Population: Adults and Newborns
- Patient Ratios: Per AWHONN Standards
- Equipment: Omnicell Medication Dispenser, Baxter Pumps, Masimo Monitors, GE Centricity Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Centricity/MEDHOST
- Shift: Varies
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Yes, potential to float to other departments based on census and needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Nevada
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Postpartum experience
- Nursery experience
- Experience working with adult and neonate patients
- AWHONN standards knowledge
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Clinical skills and experience in:
- Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery (SVD) — no VBAC
- Cesarean section care
- Nonstress test administration
- Management of hemorrhages
- Fetal monitoring and interventions
Preferred Attributes
- Knowledgeable, flexible, team player, and hardworking
- Experience with common diagnoses and treatments such as antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum care, pre-eclampsia, cesarean section, inductions, and neonatal hyperbilirubinemia

- Facility offers on-site fit testing
- Dress Code: Scrubs required; street clothes are not acceptable

Summary
This travel RN position in Labor & Delivery offers a varied shift schedule with a guaranteed 36 hours per week and no call requirements. The role requires at least 2 years of specialty experience and current RN licensure with specific certifications. The unit provides care for both mothers and newborns in a 15-bed LDRP setting, following AWHONN patient ratio standards. Flexibility to float to other departments may be required.
