Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery/Mother Baby
Location: Madison, Indiana

Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery/Mother Baby, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will supervise licensed and non-licensed staff, apply evidence-based practice, and participate in quality improvement efforts. The role emphasizes assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans, with a focus on patient comfort, education, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
- Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
- Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge.
- Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; mentor and precept staff.
- Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives.
- Promote teamwork and effective communication.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Recognize and prioritize complex patient care needs, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
- Collaborate with patients and families to address discharge planning and advocacy.
- Address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice research.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years acute care RN experience.
- Ability and willingness to work in both Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby units.
- Current RN license valid in Indiana (implied by job specialty).
