Job Opportunity: RN - OR (Operating Room)

Location: Martinsville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Operating Room / Surgery
• Shift: Days (6:30 AM – 2:30 PM)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Every Other / As Needed
• Call Requirements: Yes
• Float Requirements: Surgical Services / As Needed

Facility & Unit Information

• Unit: Surgery
• Number of Beds/Rooms:

  • 10 OR rooms
  • 4 PACU beds
  • 19 Ambulatory bays
  • 5 EPS
  • 9 Endoscopy bays
• Patient Population: General Surgery patients
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Perioperative experience
• Experience as OR Circulate RN
• Experience as OR Scrub RN
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Additional Information

• Orientation: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Drug Screening: Random drug screens required on-site
• Background: Criminal questionnaire and consent form required
• Dress Code: Scrubs provided; unapproved fingernails not allowed (per AORN guidelines)
