Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)
Location: San Diego, California
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (89 days rounded to 13 weeks)
Job Summary
As an RN in the Operating Room, you will provide safe, therapeutic, and individualized nursing care to patients and their families. You will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, collaborating with healthcare team members to manage complex and high-risk clinical situations. You will also serve as a patient advocate and ensure quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care tailored to patient age and cultural needs.
- Assess patient and family needs, prioritize goals, and document assessment data.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Evaluate patient and family progress toward goals and adjust care plans as needed.
- Identify and address patient/family educational needs using adult-learning principles.
- Recognize communication barriers and seek interdisciplinary support to establish therapeutic relationships.
- Advocate for patients and families, encouraging participation in decision-making.
- Delegate care tasks appropriately within the healthcare team’s scope of practice.
- Coordinate and communicate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient care and workflow.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN experience, including experience within the last year
- Labor and Delivery experience
- Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
