Job Opportunity: RN - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Unit Information

Unit: 6 West Neurosciences
Number of Beds: 36
Number of Staff: 40
Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 3 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
Patient Ratios:
- Day Shift: 5:1, 6:1 stretch
- Night Shift: 7:1 stretch
Equipment: Standard Med Surge Equipment
EMR System: Cerner

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Experience & Skills

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Progressive Care/Neurosciences
Preferred Skills: Neuro experience preferred
Typical Procedures: Foley catheter insertion, IV starts
Personality Fit: Outgoing, self-motivated

Schedule & Contract Details

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
