Job Description
As an RN in the Operating Room, you will provide safe, therapeutic, and individualized nursing care to patients and their families. Your role involves comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using the nursing process. You will collaborate with healthcare team members to manage complex or high-risk clinical situations and advocate for patients and families to ensure quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient and family-centered care aimed at achieving holistic and individualized goals.
- Perform nursing assessments and document patient and family needs.
- Develop and implement age- and culturally-appropriate nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Identify and address patient and family educational needs using adult-learning principles.
- Recognize communication barriers and seek interdisciplinary support to establish therapeutic relationships.
- Advocate for patient and family participation in care decisions and uphold their rights.
- Document care and communicate patient needs according to department policies.
- Delegate tasks appropriately within the healthcare team’s scope of practice.
- Coordinate and communicate with healthcare team members and ancillary staff to support patient progress and workflow.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Orthopedics experience, with Orthopedics experience within the last year
- Neurology experience
- Robotics experience
Contract Length
- Approximately 13 weeks (89 days rounded to 13 weeks).
This position is ideal for experienced OR nurses seeking a short-term assignment in a dynamic healthcare environment.
