Job Opportunity: RN - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: D2, 2nd floor, Mission Main campus
• Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6 (stretch), depending on level of care
• Patient Type: Inpatient overflow unit with mixed medical-surgical and/or step-down patients; short stay patients (<24 hr LOS)
• Equipment: Telemetry (all telemetry patients hardwired to bedside monitor)
• EMR System: Cerner

Work Schedule & Environment

• Day Shift Staffing: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
• Night Shift Staffing: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 CNAs
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
• On Call: No call required
• Floating: Travelers must float to other units as needed
• Dress Code: Navy and/or white top, navy bottom, or all white scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Telemetry competency
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent progressive care experience preferred
• Positive attitude, patient experience focused, kind, compassionate, team player

Additional Notes

• This is a fast-paced unit with quick patient turnover
• Candidates without telemetry competency and progressive care experience will not be considered
• Must be able to work well with others and maintain a positive, compassionate approach to patient care
