Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Technologist (Travel)

Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Assist with cardiovascular procedures to analyze, diagnose, and treat patients.
• Perform active physiological monitoring of heart rate, rhythm, pressures, and saturations.
• Anticipate and communicate patient condition changes to physicians and team members.
• Conduct patient testing and intra-procedure monitoring (oxygen saturation, cardiac output, shunting, hemodynamic calculations).
• Demonstrate knowledge of procedures, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain asepsis and infection control standards.
• Assist with room setup, patient transport, and post-procedure clean-up.
• Provide patient education on post-procedure monitoring and catheter site care.

Required Qualifications

• License: RT-R ARRT or RCIS license required.
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
• Exams & Competencies:

  • Specialty competency exam with minimum 80% passing score (only 2 attempts allowed).
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics with minimum 80% passing score.
• Health Requirements:

  • Proof of MMR vaccination or positive titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (annual update required).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season or mask requirement if declined.
  • TB screening with positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • 12-panel drug screen completed within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Background & Verification:

  • Criminal background check including SSN trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender registry, and other checks within 30 days of assignment start.
  • Employment verification for the past seven years.
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
• Other:

  • Valid driver’s license or state ID.
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually.
