    Contract Details

    • Length: 13 weeks

    • Shift/Ratio: 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
    • Floating: Required to float between like units
    • Block Scheduling: Possible, at manager discretion
    • Weekend Requirement: No
    • On-call: No
    • First-timers: Accepted

    Required Experience

    • Specialty: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
    • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
    • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

    Required Certifications & Licenses

    • California RN License (active, no pending license accepted)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • Advanced AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certification
    • LA Fire Card (must be obtained prior to or within 30 days of start)

    Additional Requirements

    • Must be able to work with Epic electronic health record system
    • Free parking available
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Drug screen (10 panel) within 90 days of start
    • Immunizations and health documents required:
      • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Fit mask test required annually (N95 or equivalent)
    • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use
    • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
    • Employment application covering at least last 5 years

    Competencies & Training

    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Unit-specific skills checklist, updated annually
    • Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring (EFM) training or certification (AWHONN or NCC) required for L&D RNs
    • Providence WorkRamp modules:
      • Annual regulatory requirements
      • Specialty-specific modules for Labor and Delivery
      • Regional and facility-specific training modules
    • Epic training modules completion required prior to or shortly after start

    Scheduling & Work Environment

    • Nurse-to-patient ratio 1:2
    • Floating between similar units may be required
    • Block scheduling available at manager discretion
    • No weekend requirement
    • No on-call requirement

    Notes

    • Pending licenses are not accepted
    • Facility may call off once per two-week pay period

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
    • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
    • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
    • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification or training
    • LA Fire Card
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
