Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- High School Diploma or College Diploma or official transcripts from a Respiratory Therapy program (third-party verification acceptable; unofficial transcripts not accepted)
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable) – check unit requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
- Other certifications may be unit-specific; verify per assignment
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
- Education accreditation confirmation required for Respiratory Therapy program
- Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
- Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required
- Confidential Fraud, Waste, Abuse, and Compliance Reporting training and acknowledgment required
- Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and signed annually
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, documenting good health and free of contagious disease
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
- TB questionnaire required in lieu of annual TB test renewal
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series; signed declination acceptable
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemption requires documentation
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); decliners must wear a mask
- COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
Competency Requirements
- Unit-specific competency exams required
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required for Aya candidates
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for all RNs within 1 year of start (not applicable for this RRT role)
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or formal leadership (not applicable for non-clinical candidates)

Notes
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Fingerprinting and background checks are time-sensitive and must be completed prior to or shortly after start
- Floating between campuses may be required, so flexibility is important
- Weekend night shifts are mandatory
This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists who are comfortable with night shifts, weekend work, and working in a multi-campus environment.
