Job Opportunity: CT/Xray Tech, Nights
Location: Hermiston, Oregon
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
Provides diagnostic imaging services including radiographic and computed tomography (CT) procedures to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Responsible for operating imaging equipment, preparing patients, ensuring image quality, and assisting licensed practitioners with interventional procedures. Maintains patient care, safety, and confidentiality throughout all procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform diagnostic radiography and CT procedures.
- Corroborate patient clinical history with procedures and document accordingly.
- Prepare and instruct patients to ensure cooperation and minimize anxiety.
- Operate radiography and CT equipment, selecting appropriate protocols.
- Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the area of interest while ensuring patient comfort.
- Immobilize patients as needed for examinations.
- Determine radiographic exposure factors to minimize radiation exposure.
- Evaluate image quality and ensure proper identification.
- Verify informed consent and assist with interventional radiography procedures.
- Practice aseptic techniques and basic life support when necessary.
- Perform venipunctures as part of CT procedures.
- Maintain archival storage of digitized data and assist with record keeping.
- Provide patient education and support.
- Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities.
- May provide instruction to students or other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with inventory control and equipment maintenance.
- Pursue continuing education to maintain licensure and certification.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and CT, or equivalent as required by Oregon.
- Licensed as a Radiologic Technologist/CT Technologist in the State of Oregon.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual skills, especially English-Spanish, preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.
