Job Opportunity: OR Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced OR RN to circulate and assist in a variety of surgical specialties including General, GYN, Urology, Peripheral Vascular, Orthopedics, Neuro, ENT, Oral, Plastics, and Cardiovascular-Thoracic cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate in multiple surgical specialties:

  • General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular (including bowel resections, laparoscopic, daVinci Xi, c-sections)
  • Orthopedics (total joints with/without MAKO robot, arthroscopy, trauma)
  • Neuro/ENT/Oral/Plastics (trach, ENT procedures, plastics, spine fusions, crani, facial fractures, laryngoscopy/bronchoscopy, neck dissections)
  • Cardiovascular-Thoracic (also covering Peripheral Vascular)
• Scrubbing is not required for RNs.
• Participate in charge nurse or house supervisor roles as needed.
• Float to the Outpatient Surgery Center across campus as required.
• Use Cerner EMR system.

Work Schedule

• Primarily day shifts: 07:00-15:30, 17:30, or 19:30
• One week of PM shifts (15:00-23:30) approximately every 5 weeks
• Night shifts (23:00-07:00) possible with prior experience at this facility
• Call requirements:

  • 1-2 weeknights per week (end of shift to 07:00)
  • 1 weekend every 5-6 weekends
  • At least 1 holiday per year
• Call response times:

  • Call team 1: 30 minutes
  • Call teams 2-4: 45 minutes
• Shift length options: 8 or 10 hours; 12-hour shifts may be available on subsequent contracts depending on staffing

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in Wisconsin
• ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Ability to circulate in a wide range of surgical cases as described
• Prior experience circulating in OR required (years of experience not explicitly stated, but implied to be experienced in multiple surgical specialties)

Orientation & Training

• 2-3 days of department-specific orientation with educator plus computer-based training (CBTs)
• 1-2 weeks of supervised cases to learn flow and less familiar procedures
