Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Computed Tomography)
Location: Osage Beach, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
A healthcare facility in Missouri is seeking a CT Technologist with multi-modality skills in CT and X-Ray to join their team. The position is night shift with 3-12 hour shifts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights (7 PM to 7 AM), totaling 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Radiologic Technology program
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT/X-Ray Technologist
- Experience with Canon or Toshiba imaging equipment preferred
- Ability to operate Siemens CT and X-Ray equipment
- Must be able to assist in X-ray as needed (float to other radiology areas)
- No state-specific license required for CT Techs in Missouri
Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment and accessories, including tube warm-ups and daily quality control
- Apply radiation protection principles and practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable)
- Prepare patients for procedures, provide clear instructions, and answer questions to reduce anxiety
- Select appropriate scan protocols and position patients for imaging
- Transport patients to and from the department
- Follow sterilization and infection control procedures, including aseptic techniques
- Handle hazardous materials and prevent cross-contamination
- Clean equipment, take inventory, and restock supplies
- Administer contrast materials and take patient history prior to exams
- Supervise and train new staff as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
- Must be physically able to stand, stoop, lift, push, and pull without restrictions; heavy lifting up to 35 lbs required
- Flexible and reliable with scheduling
Additional Information
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)
- No on-call required
- Scrubs: Black pants and pewter top (not provided)
- Work environment: Hospital Emergency Department with 20-40 scans per shift
- Housing assistance recommended to be arranged ASAP
