Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - LTC
Location: Beaver Dam, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Information
- Type of Facility: Nursing Home attached to hospital
- Number of Beds/Residents: 70 (majority private)
- EMR System: ECS
- Patient Population: Dementia, frail elderly, rehabilitation patients
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- RNs: 1:20
- LPNs: 1:20
- CNAs: 1:8
- Interdisciplinary Team: Therapy, Administration, Social Workers, Activities, Dietary, Housekeeping
- Pharmacy: On-site with medication dispensing system
- Respiratory Therapist: On-site 24/7
- Physician Availability: After hours coverage available
Job Duties
- Charting and assessments
- Charge nurse responsibilities
- Medication administration
- Clinical skills including IVs, catheters, ostomy care
- Floating between units as needed
Schedule & Requirements
- Shift Length: 8-hour block shifts
- Staffing: 4 nurses and 7 aides during day/pm shifts; 2 nurses and 3-4 aides at night
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Must be available for at least half of the holidays during the assignment
- Call/Standby: No on-call required
- Dress Code: Any solid color, clean and professional
- Orientation: Unit-specific, varies based on skills
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: LTC Registered Nurse
- Certifications: BLS (AHA) required
- Experience: Must have experience working with elderly patients
- IV and titratable drip experience required
- Prior travel experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
Additional Notes
- Clinicians who have previously worked at this facility must have ended their assignment at least 6 months prior to submission
- All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
This position is ideal for RNs with LTC experience who are comfortable managing a variety of clinical skills in a nursing home setting.
