ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Contract in Waimea, Hawaii

Job Details

• Specialty: Nursing (ICU/CCU)
• Location: Waimea, Hawaii
• Employment Type: Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Work Schedule: 80 hours every 2 weeks, no exceptions
• Patient Population: Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Unit: ICU/CCU (4 beds/4 rooms)
• Patient Ratio: 1:2 depending on acuity; additional nurse called if one patient is on a ventilator
• Additional Float Assignments: OB, Medical-Surgical (MS), PACU, and Emergency Room (ER) based on competency

Job Description

• Coordinate and provide care to patients with serious respiratory and/or cardiac conditions requiring ICU/CCU specialized services.
• After-hours PACU recovery duties.
• Emergency room experience is recommended.
• Hospital orientation through HR and in-service, followed by unit orientation with nurse manager (1-2 day shifts, then 1-2 night shifts) and completion of orientation/competency binder.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Hawaii
• Minimum of 2 years CVICU experience, including experience within the last year
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Emergency room (ER) experience (recommended)

Additional Information

• Holiday pay applies for hours worked on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
• Orientation and competency requirements must be completed.
• Must comply with facility onboarding and compliance processes.
