    Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (PCU Unit)

    Job Description

    • Position: ICU Registered Nurse to work in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Patient Ratios: 1:3
    • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
    • Float Requirement: Yes, within skillset
    • On-call: No
    • Locals Accepted: Yes
    • Pending License Accepted: No
    • First-time travelers accepted

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
    • Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
    • Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
    • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
    • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
    • Fire Card certification
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

    Work Environment

    • Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Magnet Facility
    • Total Staffed Beds: 377
    • Charting System: Epic
    • Scrub Color: Any color (L&D & OR provided)
    • Parking: Free

    Scheduling

    • Weekend shifts required every other weekend
    • Floating within skillset expected

    Compliance and Documentation Requirements

    • Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
    • Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
    • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
    • Immunizations & Health Documents:
      • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria) within 10 years or declination
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
      • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
      • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
      • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
      • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
      • COVID vaccine or declination
    • Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for travel candidates, updated annually
    • Fit Mask Test: Required for travel candidates, updated annually
    • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
    • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps or overlaps

    Training and Competency Requirements

    • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
    • Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually
    • Epic Training: Completion of Epic modules required prior to or shortly after start
    • WorkRamp Modules:
      • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific modules required
      • Modules assigned based on region, specialty, and facility
    • Float Policy Acknowledgement: Required (may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)

    Additional Notes

    • Pending licenses are not accepted
    • First-time travelers are welcome
    • Candidates must include Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission
    • Fire Card certification can be completed post-start if all attempts made prior to start
    • Background checks and education verifications are strictly enforced
