Description
Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Avon, Indiana
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Work Hours:
- 8 and 10 hour shifts totaling 40 hours/week
- Or 3 shifts of 12 hours totaling 36 hours/week
- Or 4 shifts of 12 hours totaling 48 hours/week
- Patient Settings: Outpatient, Inpatient, and Emergency Room (ER)
- ER Beds: 38
- Preferred Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner
- Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS): Synapse
- Department Size: 85+ employees
- Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Indiana
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT certification
Special Requirements
- Ability to work with outpatient, inpatient, and ER patients
- Flexibility to float to sister facilities if needed
- Open to discussing block scheduling
Required Certifications and Competencies
- BLS (AHA or RQI acceptable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or RQI acceptable
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or RQI acceptable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA only
- Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., CHEMO, TNCC, EFM)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (not required for Techs)
- Unit Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Background Check within 90 days of start, including:
- 7 years residence/work history
- SSN Trace, County Criminal, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
- Education Verification
- International search if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Transcript/Diploma (official and clear copy)
- Education Verification by 3rd party
- Online verification of Indiana license within 30 days before start
- HIPAA Acknowledgement
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask Test within 12 months (approved respirators only)
- Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Strongly recommended
- TB Testing: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
Documentation and History
- Minimum 2 professional references from recent employment (within 2 years) with appropriate supervisory titles
- Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Skills Checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter
- Application must cover 7 years of history with all gaps accounted for
Additional Notes
- Must complete facility-specific orientation and compliance forms prior to start
- Self-study orientation and testing required before start
- Floating to sister facilities may be required
- Must adhere to facility policies and procedures
This position is suitable for CT Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, holding the required Indiana license and certifications, and who are flexible with shifts and holiday work. First-time travel techs are welcome to apply.
