Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical
Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Requires ACLS, NIH, and BLS certifications.
- Responsibilities include floating to other units and occasional charge nurse duties.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State RN license (State License Verification required within 30 days prior to start).
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- 8 hours of stroke training, including NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Current COVID-19 vaccination or agency declination (optional).
- MMR immunity: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required.
- Fit test completed within the last 12 months (specific approved mask models).
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination form.
- Influenza vaccine or declination form (mask required if declined).
- TB testing within the last year (PPD or Quantiferon/Spot test) with follow-up as needed.
- Varicella immunity: Positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required.
- Tdap vaccine preferred within last 10 years or declination form.
- Physical/Health statement from an approved provider within the last 12 months, including vitals and vision screening.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license or state ID (not expired).
Additional Requirements
- Completion of a skills checklist specific to the assigned unit, updated annually.
- Passing score (80% or higher) on core competency exams for nursing.
- Background check within 30 days of start, including multiple county and national criminal searches.
- Drug screen within 30 days of start (9+ panel).
- Submission of a detailed resume covering the last 7 years of employment and education.
- Two professional references: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one supervisor or peer reference from the last 3 years.
- Signed job description and employment verification of most recent employer.
- Completion of various required forms and acknowledgments related to conduct, sexual harassment, parking, and assignment confirmation.
- Annual TB questionnaire and reassessment forms for extended assignments.
- Color headshot photo in JPEG format.
