Description
Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Work Details
- Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
- Shift: 7 AM - 7:30 PM and 7 PM - 7:30 AM (rotating shifts)
- Weekend: Every other weekend required
- Call Requirements: Yes
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Floating: Required (must comply with Methodist Floating Policy)
- Documentation System: Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas (Temporary licenses NOT accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications:
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) certification
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Conscious Sedation
- Participation in Intubations
- Behavioral Health Watch
- Sepsis management
- Stroke care including TPA administration
- Chest pain (Heart Alerts) management
Dress Code & Appearance Guidelines
- Scrubs: Navy color for RNs; undershirts and jackets in white, navy, or black only
- Nails: No acrylics, nails no longer than ¼ inch, clean, no chipped polish
- Hair: Off shoulders, natural color only
- Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; uncovered body art addressed individually
- Piercings: Only ear piercings visible; all others prohibited

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- Floating to other units as needed is mandatory.
