    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med Surg Tele Unit)

    Location: Crescent City, California

    Job Description

    • Provide direct nursing care for patients of all ages in the Med Surg Telemetry Unit.
    • Use the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Manage care of assigned patients and direct activities of ancillary staff.
    • Assess patients' physiological and psychological needs comprehensively.
    • Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
    • Demonstrate leadership skills, including charge nurse responsibilities.

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid RN license in California.
    • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
    • Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
    • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
    • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
    • PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

    Background and Compliance Requirements

    • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
    • Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screening.
    • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana due to CA law).
    • Physical exam required within 1 year of start.
    • Fit mask test required within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted).
    • Immunizations and titers required:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
      • Hepatitis B series or declination
      • Varicella immunity or vaccination
      • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
    • TB Screening Questionnaire required within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
    • Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually.

    Additional Requirements

    • Must complete and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, overpayment refund policy, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
    • Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps.
    • Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually.
    • References: 2 professional references required within 3 years for clinical acute care candidates.
