Description
Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (Travel)
Location: Dickson, Tennessee
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Unit Overview
- Unit: Women’s Services (LDRP, OBED, NICU, 1 OR suite)
- Beds: LDRP 9 beds, OBED 1 bed, NICU 4 beds
- Patient Ratios:
- Active labors, inductions, C-sections: 1:1
- Couplet care: 1:3
- Newborns: 1:1 until stable
- NICU intermediate care: 1:3 (2 NICU nurses required if NICU patients present)
- Staffing: No techs or unit secretaries available
- Equipment: Central monitoring, IV pumps, infant warmers, tele-med robot for neonatologist, bili-blankets, PCA pumps
- Documentation System: Meditech and CPN
- Scheduling: Full-time, 3 shifts per week, rotating weekends and holidays; PRNs to complete schedule
- Floating Policy: Regular staff may float anywhere within the facility as needed; some cross-training between LDRP & NICU
- Patient Experience: Daily rounding on all patients, safety rounding
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Charge nurse roles
- Certifications:
- AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Experience with inductions using Pitocin and Cervidil

- Dress code requires pink and/or brown scrubs per infant security policy
