Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)


Job Description

  • Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) or based on department needs; Every Other Hour (EOH) rotating with regular staff
  • May need to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles if needed
  • Must have experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Wisconsin
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MOAB) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
  • EPLS (Emergency Pediatric Life Support)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Documented proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Fit Test (3M 1860 Regular, 3M 1860 Small, or 3M 1870+), updated annually
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Varicella immunity proof (two vaccines, serology, or history verified by provider); no declinations accepted
  • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
  • TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Color vision test prior to start, updated every 3 years

Professional & Onboarding Requirements

  • Resume/Profile submission required
  • Two professional references required prior to first assignment
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days prior to start; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
  • Employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start; updated if break in service > 90 days
  • License and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Skills checklist completed within one year of start; updated annually for specialty
  • Specialty exam completed prior to first assignment; updated every 3 years (minimum 80% passing score)
  • Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) completed within a year of start; updated every 3 years (minimum 80% passing score)
  • EKG exam completed with passing score of at least 80%; updated every 3 years
  • Badge photo (forward facing, white or blue background) required

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules and float as needed within a 40-mile radius
