Description

Job Opportunity: RN Oncology Infusion Clinic - Adult

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Under general supervision, provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex in an oncology infusion clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities

Administer chemotherapy drugs, PO and SC injections, and other medications as ordered by physicians.
Consult with medical personnel and provide expert information about chemotherapy and side effects.
Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders.
Assist physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures.
Monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary.
Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families.
Provide chemotherapy-related education to patients and families.
Schedule patient follow-ups and coordinate care through referrals and phone calls.
Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Minimum 1 year of infusion experience, including infusion experience within the last year
Oncology nursing experience
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification
Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) / Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
