Travel/Contract ICU Registered Nurse

Location: Modesto, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Accountable for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care in an acute patient setting.
• Provide direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care.
• Deliver holistic and individualized care considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
• Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers through effective communication.
• Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws to promote optimal patient experience.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3 x 12)
• Weekend requirement: Every other Saturday and Sunday; holidays as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California

• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year

• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
• Required years of experience: Minimum 1 year of ICU experience within the last year
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Background Checks & Compliance

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
• FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start, then monthly updates
• EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, Sex Offender Search, and other federal/state checks as applicable
• Education verification required (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
• Employment history verification for 7 years with no gaps over 30 days
• References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement, not client)

Notes

• Minimal Return to Office (RTO) will be approved
• Some certifications and requirements may be verified or required by position or facility leadership discretion
• Religious exemptions for certain requirements (e.g., PAPR, vaccines) considered on a case-by-case basis with proper documentation

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs licensed in California who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable with a 13-week travel contract in an acute care setting with a 3x12 shift schedule and weekend/holiday coverage.
