Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Labor and Delivery (L&D)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- First-time travelers accepted: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block schedule accommodation: Exempt
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Intermediate
Certifications must be current and cannot expire within 30 days of start date.
Required Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse license for Washington D.C. only
- Primary source verification required
- License must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start date
Schedule & Work Environment
- Teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma designation
- 228 staffed beds
- Charting systems include Centricity, Sorian, EDM, Lawson, Kronos
- Scrub color provided
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- AWHONN Intermediate certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association
- NRP certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Requirements
- Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
- Complete employment application/resume including licensure, certifications, education, and employment history
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, social security trace, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, and education verification
- Drug screening (9-panel within last 12 months, instant acceptable)
- Physical exam completed by a physician, updated annually
- Fit mask testing within one year, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (or declination form)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines, boosters if needed)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination form)
- Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines, boosters if needed)
- Flu vaccine required annually (medical/religious exemptions accepted with approval)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions accepted)
