Job Opportunity: Home Health Registered Nurse
Location: Torrance, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with home health experience to manage a high-volume caseload in a home health setting. This role requires punctuality and adherence to an hourly pay model with a daily caseload of 5-6 patients.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 2 years of home health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment in home health nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in a home health setting
- Experience in supervisory roles
- Recent OASIS experience and proficiency with OASIS assessments
Job Details
- Work Schedule: Weekend shifts required every 4 weeks.
- On-Call: On-call duties required.
- Caseload: 5-6 patients per day.
- Territory: Coverage within Los Angeles County, with travel radius of 5-20 miles. Mileage reimbursed per IRS standards.
- Start Time: Must start promptly at 8:00 AM as per contract.
- Locals: Local candidates accepted with no radius restrictions.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid driver’s license or state ID (required for home health workers).
- Background checks including nationwide, county, sex offender, and DMV search.
- Education verification or diploma/transcript.
- Various facility-specific acknowledgments and policy reviews (e.g., safety, confidentiality, attendance, meal breaks).
- Health documents including:
- Fit mask test within one year (specific mask types required).
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable.
- Immunizations or immunity documentation for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella, and Tdap.
- Drug testing within one year, updated annually.
- COVID-19 vaccination or declination form.
- Harassment prevention training certificate.
- Competency exams including specialty test (minimum 80% score).
Additional Notes
- Flu vaccine deadline and strict no exemption policy for the 2025-2026 season.
- Proof of auto insurance required and must be maintained if it expires during the contract.
- Must complete facility-required quizzes and orientation modules prior to start.
This position is ideal for experienced home health RNs with prior travel assignments in home health nursing, who are ready to work in a structured, high-volume environment with strict compliance and documentation requirements.
